WEST CENTER CITY WILMINGTON

Wilmington Alliance has been working to revitalize West Center City, Wilmington with a focus on creativity and the arts. They are bringing residents together to strengthen community bonds and improve the quality of life and vitality in the area. With HCD’s support since 2022, the creative place-making approach reclaims and reactivates existing public spaces, highlights cultural assets, and uses arts and culture to mend, heal, and instill belonging.

• Indoor community space created: The Art-O-Mat (501 West 7th Street) brings free programming to all ages.
• 108 free community-building events such as concerts, art markets, and wellness activities, held in shared spaces such as the Rock Lot, 7th & West Park, and the Art-o-mat.
• 2 artist residencies.
• 2 community green spaces maintained and activated.
• 293 pounds of fresh produce donated.
